  • The Monohybrid cross is the simplest cross performed by Mendel, and it is the cross made to study the inheritance of a single character.

  • The reciprocal cross occurs when two genotypes or phenotypes are crossed with reversed sources of gametes in one cross.

  • Recessive is when two, unlike unit factors, are present in one individual; one unit factor is dominant to the other, which is said to be recessive.

  • Dihybrid cross is a cross between two individuals for studying the inheritance of two characters.

  • Epistatic is a gene that masks another gene’s expression, and Hypostatic is a gene whose expression is masked by a non-allelic gene.
